Why Get a Bachelor Degree In Accounting?
Becoming a CPA (certified public accountant) is the gold standard in accounting. Most states will only allow you to take the exam if you have a one hundred fifty semester hours. This is a little more than your average bachelor's, but most colleges have changed their course hours to suit the new requirements. While some states and firms are willing to accept lesser or no qualifications, the nature of a busy office can make it very difficult to gain the education you need from your colleagues. By studying a bachelor degree in accounting you are not leaving your education to chance and risking being taught incorrectly or inconsistently. You may learn about a range of subjects including tax, profit and loss accounts, and calculations. You might also cover legal aspects and requirements of accounting as well as getting some practical experience using different accounting software.

There are all sorts of roles which may appeal to you to follow. Many accounting firms are happy to delegate routine accounting duties to graduates, although there are certain things, which you will not be allowed to do without a certificate. If you have an interest in IT, you may even decide to position yourself in a growing niche catering for accounting related IT systems.
